The safety valve is small, but it has a huge effect
- May 18, 2018 -

Do not look at the size of the air compressor valve is small, but its function can not be overlooked. Just as the screw air compressor safety valve is a “small thing” installed on the oil and gas tank, it can play a role in safety protection in the air compressor system. When the system pressure exceeds the specified value, the safety valve opens, and part of the gas in the system is discharged into the atmosphere, so that the system pressure does not exceed the allowable value, thereby ensuring that the system does not cause accidents due to high pressure.

The set pressure (set pressure) of the screw air compressor safety valve is the pressure at which it starts to jump. It is generally required that the setting pressure is greater than the normal working pressure and less than the maximum pressure of the system.

There are two types of air compressor safety valves: spring type and rod type, among which the spring type safety valve is the most widely used. As we all know, the tighter the spring pressure, the greater the required force, that is to say the spring pressing force is proportional to the amount of deformation. As the opening height of the valve core increases, the compression of the spring also increases, and the resulting reaction force also increases accordingly, which is the working pressure required for the safety valve to return to the seat in time. There are many types of spring-loaded safety valves. Nowadays, the cylindrical spiral type is mainly used. The wire section is generally a circular compression spring. This type of spring has typical linear force characteristics.

Before the air compressor safety valve is installed and used, it should be adjusted to the specified pressure on the test bench, and check the tightness of the safety valve. The safety valve that is adjusted and inspected should be sealed. The safety valve in use should be checked regularly and checked regularly according to relevant technical supervision regulations.
